Temporary or permanent?
Weatherproofing is not always the final repair
A temporary covering or local seal may be the safest practical action during severe weather. It should not be presented as a permanent repair when the covering, timber, membrane or junction beneath it still needs renewal.
A permanent solution may involve matching tiles or slates, renewing flashings, rebuilding a valley detail, replacing damaged battens or underlay, repairing a flat-roof system, or carrying out wider roof work if defects are not isolated.
